Amy Edson, Veterinary Technician

Amy Edson is a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician who began her journey in animal care as a volunteer. Her passion was sparked in 2011 while working with Hello Bully Pit Bull Rescue in Pittsburgh, an experience that inspired her to pursue a degree in Veterinary Technology.

She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburgh in December 2013 and successfully passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) in April 2014. Since then, Amy has been a Licensed and Certified Veterinary Technician, bringing more than a decade of hands-on experience across a variety of specialties including emergency care in Pittsburgh, oncology and cardiology in Florida, and general practice and urgent care in Virginia.

Amy joined her current hospital in May 2025, continuing her mission to advocate for pets and provide high-quality medical care with empathy and precision.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time outdoors paddle boarding and hiking, or relaxing with a good book and her crochet projects. She shares her home with a lively crew of four-legged companions: Bash, her almost 13-year-old mutt with boundless energy and sass; Meeka, a sleek black cat; and Phil and Halo, two spirited tabby cats. Bash was adopted during her time at vet tech school and remains her loyal hiking buddy and enthusiastic watchdog—especially when it comes to deer, bunnies, or delivery trucks.
