Rafael, Veterinary Technician
Rafael joined the WellPet team in June 2023. Previously, he worked at a dairy farm and as a horse groomer for a professional dressage rider. He is completing an externship for an associate degree in applied science, veterinary technician at Northampton Community College, which leads to becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. He realized he enjoyed being with animals when his dad took him to Stonegate Farms, where he worked, and showed him how wonderful standard breed horses and foals are. Rafael shares his home with the first dog he ever had, a 4-year-old Shih Tzu named Luna. Luna has always been a ray of sunshine, and he is grateful for the impact she has had on his younger brother who has low level autism. In his free time, Rafael enjoys playing soccer, basketball or golf on the weekends. He also enjoys playing the tenor saxophone and is learning to play the guitar.

Loretta, Veterinary Technician
Loretta is one of our talented vet techs at Well Pet. Currently a student at Ashworth College, she's on her way to snagging an associate degree in Veterinary Technology and getting that all-important state license. Loretta's love for animals isn't new; she's been a fan of the animal kingdom since she was five, trying to make pals with every creature she met.
Loretta is also a pet parent to a lively bunch at home. Her pets include Maggie Moon Pie, the 14-year-old Domestic Shorthair; Chester Cheeto, the 6-year-old Domestic Shorthair; Sprinkles Dinkles, an 8-year-old Domestic Longhair with a dash of sass; and Pepper Potts, a 3-year-old Golden Doodle who's convinced the cats are out to get her.
When Loretta's not buried in her studies or playing mediator to her pets, she's usually spending time with her family on their farm or hitting the road for day trips with friends. And let's not forget her hobbies - gardening and baking, which are just other ways for her to sprinkle a little more joy around. We are so glad to have Loretta as a key member of our team!

Rachel, Veterinary Technician
Rachel grew up in Staten Island, has always had a passion for science, and is studying biology at the College of Staten Island. She has had fish and bearded dragons, but currently has a dog named Nyx. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exploring the city and skiing.

Chyanne, Veterinary Technician
Chyanne joined WellPet in January 2025, bringing enthusiasm and dedication to our veterinary team. She is currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering while gaining valuable experience in animal healthcare.
Her passion for animal care began in childhood when she fell in love with a show called The Saddle Club. As she was unable to pursue horseback riding, she immersed herself in books about equine care instead. This early interest in animal care blossomed over the years, inspiring her to take on the care of her house pets and fueling her desire to continue learning as much as she could about veterinary care.
Chyanne shares her home with a six-year-old Shih-poo named Nai, a protective lap dog who remains faithfully by her side whenever she's home. When not at work, Chyanne enjoys attending guitar lessons, going to local shows with friends, and playing video games.

Patrycja, Veterinary Technician
Patrycja joined our team in January 2025, bringing her passion for animal care and welfare to every patient interaction. Currently a student at Hillsborough High School, she plans to pursue a degree in Animal Science on a pre-DVM track this fall, with her sights set on veterinary school afterward.
Her dedication to veterinary medicine stems from her lifelong connection with animals. Growing up with multiple dogs, Patrycja developed a deep appreciation for the human-animal bond and became inspired to pursue a career that would allow her to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their families.
When she's not caring for patients, Patrycja enjoys spending quality time with her handsome Bernedoodle, Max—a distinguished and admittedly spoiled gentleman who loves cuddling and going on adventures around town. Her other interests include working out, various art forms from painting to crocheting, and volleyball, which she both plays and coaches.

Kristina, Veterinary Technician
Kristina Hahn is a dedicated Veterinary Assistant at WellPet with a strong academic background in animal care. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Science and is currently applying to veterinary school.
Her passion for animals started early, inspired by wildlife shows like Zaboomafu and The Crocodile Hunter. Growing up surrounded by cats and dogs, she spent much of her childhood visiting 4H fairs, zoos, and aquariums.
At home, Kristina enjoys spending time with her beloved pets: Chewbacca ("Chewie"), a fun-loving Bernese Mountain Dog/King Cavalier mix who adores car rides and chasing squirrels, and Hoss, a tuxedo Domestic Shorthair who enjoys sunbathing and napping with his brother, Little Joe.
When she's not working, Kristina loves crocheting, watching movies, traveling, hiking with Chewie, and skiing. Her dedication to animals and her enthusiasm for learning make her a valued member of the WellPet team.

Amy Edson, Veterinary Technician
Amy Edson is a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician who began her journey in animal care as a volunteer. Her passion was sparked in 2011 while working with Hello Bully Pit Bull Rescue in Pittsburgh, an experience that inspired her to pursue a degree in Veterinary Technology.
She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburgh in December 2013 and successfully passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) in April 2014. Since then, Amy has been a Licensed and Certified Veterinary Technician, bringing more than a decade of hands-on experience across a variety of specialties including emergency care in Pittsburgh, oncology and cardiology in Florida, and general practice and urgent care in Virginia.
Amy joined her current hospital in May 2025, continuing her mission to advocate for pets and provide high-quality medical care with empathy and precision.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time outdoors paddle boarding and hiking, or relaxing with a good book and her crochet projects. She shares her home with a lively crew of four-legged companions: Bash, her almost 13-year-old mutt with boundless energy and sass; Meeka, a sleek black cat; and Phil and Halo, two spirited tabby cats. Bash was adopted during her time at vet tech school and remains her loyal hiking buddy and enthusiastic watchdog—especially when it comes to deer, bunnies, or delivery trucks.

Vanya Medina, Veterinary Assistant
Vanya Medina (she/her) joined the team at our veterinary hospital on May 27, 2025, bringing with her a deep-rooted passion for animal care that began in childhood. Born in Hillsborough and raised in Ecuador, Vanya spent much of her early life helping her family care for both farm animals and pets—an experience that sparked her lifelong interest in working with animals.
Currently enrolled at Liberty University and pursuing a degree in Zoology (Class of 2027), Vanya is dedicated to expanding her knowledge and skills in the field of animal science. As an assistant on our team, she brings both compassion and curiosity to her work every day.
At home, Vanya shares her life with two beloved cats: Bonzai, a 5-year-old tuxedo cat, and Nalah, a 4-year-old American Wirehair. Each has a unique personality, and they keep her entertained with their antics.
Outside of work and school, Vanya enjoys staying active by playing basketball and going for walks. She also loves spending quality time with friends and family—and has a talent for baking. Brownies are her specialty!
